Christmas in July

I’m starting to think that I can’t complain about how much energy my kids have or them constantly asking what can we do.  They get it from their parents!  We went I think about two weekends without a “project” and I thought I was going to go crazy.  I guess we like being outside with something to do, instead of inside.

So, enters our Christmas in July project.  Right before Eli’s birthday we got the plans in for a wooden nativity.  We bought tracing paper as well, to trace the scene on the plywood and then cut it out.  We finished it up the week after Eli’s birthday.  It wasn’t too hard to trace it all out.  John cut it out with the jig saw and the boys and I sanded them down.  Yes, every project is a family affair.

We assembled all the pieces to see how it would look.  We all think it will look great in the yard during Christmas!  Now we have to paint it white.  After my attempt to paint it the other day and found out it was 112 degrees outside, I think we might wait a little while till I tackle that part.  We have some time!
