Our baby boy turns 3!

I keep calling Eli my baby boy.  He always corrects me that he is NOT a baby, but a big boy.  I’ve even tried explaining the idea of “baby boy” using Uncle Ethan and Great Uncle Ernest (babies of my family and my dad's) as examples of “big” baby boys; but no luck.  I think I want to keep him little.  He is too cute right now.  Such a wonderful smile and playful personality.  I can’t believe he is turning three!

Since, we had company for his birthday we decided to get doughnuts.  John got sprinkled chocolate doughnuts, that we called Eli’s birthday doughnuts.  Of course our Chunky Monkey loved them.

We decided to open presents early in the afternoon, to give Eli time to play with everything.

It was right after nap time, so you can see Makaela eating a snack while Eli opens his present. Again, the theme to the birthday was Avengers, he got an Avenger t-shirt and a talking Captain America. Or as Eli says it “America”.  We got Eli a wagon and like taking his little sister for a ride around the house.  She enjoyed it too.  Eli was also nice enough to let his big brothers play with his toys.  Papa and Lenora got him the Imaginext Dino that makes noise, which everyone had to make roar.

Before dinner we pulled out the “kid wash” since the kids had stayed inside for most of the day.  The enjoyed the cool water and pulling the wagon through it.  We didn’t use bikes since Papa’s corvette was at the end of the driveway.

After dinner we had the birthday cake.  We actually got cupcakes, but from the top you can’t tell with all the icing on the top.  I tried to get a picture of Eli eating his cupcake and he kept opening his mouth.
