Happy Birthday America and Uncle Chris

Our first day of fishing was July 4th, so that afternoon we headed to Stillwater.  When we were getting ready Eli really wanted to wear his hat.  The poor kid is so confused!  But isn’t he TOO CUTE!

We picked up new fishing poles for the three little ones, some worms, and new lures for the big boys.

Then we went by Uncle Chris’s new house and puppy.  We then went to eat at one of the favorites in Stillwater- Joseppi’s with Chris and his girlfriend Kelly.  Then we sat up camp at the park to watch fireworks.  If you asked the boys “why are we going to see fireworks?” they would say “for Uncle Chris’s birthday.”  We try to explain that the fireworks are for America’s birthday.  I’m sure one day they will understand, until then they are jealous that Uncle Chris has fireworks for his birthday!

At the park, we hung out and played catch.  Makaela got my phone and started dancing, it’s an easy way to entertain her.  It is also fun to watch!

Kelly’s sister and her family were going to meet us there.  About every five minutes the boys were asking Kelly where they were at.  Kelly has four nieces ages 13, 7, 4, and 2.  Noah seemed a little girl crazy, until they got there.  Then Noah was a little shy.  Not sure how his idea that he will have a girlfriend in second grade will workout when he won’t talk to a girl.  After they got over some shyness, they had fun with their new friends.

As it got dark we sat down on the blankets to get a good view of the fireworks.  We got a few pictures, but the flash was blinding!

The last picture above shows perfectly how life is with a little sister!  She has those boys right where she wants them!!!  Last year Makaela, kicked back and watched the fireworks.  This year she decided they were too loud.  So, we stood back behind everyone watching the fireworks.  She would start to fuss and I would try and get her to think that they were pretty not scary.  We made it through the show.  Stillwater always puts on a good show!  We hung out a little and said good bye to Uncle Chris and Kelly, so we could get back to Great Grandpa’s.  Then walked to the truck.  As we were leaving the boys saw more fireworks.  I guess they had some that didn’t light and the boys were still seeing them as we sat in traffic and slowly made our way across town.  We texted Chris and they said they enjoyed the after show.
