Caleb turns 6

Before the adults went to bed on Friday night, we blew up balloons, put up a birthday sign, and put up streamers.  It is what we usually do at home and I think Caleb was really surprised when he woke up and saw balloons around the living room.

We decided that afternoon to go see The Amazing Spiderman, then have dinner, and a little family party at the house.  The boys enjoyed the movie and the rest of the day pretended to spin webs and fight bad guys.  The one down fall of the boys watching action movies.

Great Grandpa and Grandma Allen came over for dinner and some birthday cake.  It was good to see them again.  Caleb seemed to enjoy his birthday.  Avenger themed cake and such, thanks to Lenora and Papa.

Caleb is my big sweetheart.  As we were waiting for the cake I wanted to get a few pictures of him sitting in the chair.  He wanted to take pictures with his siblings too.

The big present he got this year was a DSi.  Noah was jealous, he only has a DS.  We told him to take it up with Santa Claus, since that is who got him his.  Caleb was very excited about it!  Makaela was ready to help him play with the DSi.

Papa and Lenora got Caleb a few wooden kits to build things like a truck, bank, etc.  Caleb was looking through them after he opened all the gifts and started saying who could build which.  I told him that the kits were his and he didn’t have to give them to his brothers.  Papa and Lenora also gave him what every little boy needs, the first season of Swamp People on dvd. 

After presents everyone enjoyed some cake and ice cream.

I can’t believe Caleb turned six!  Watching kids grow is amazing.  You first meet this fragile, sweet, little person and you can’t even imagine what they will be like. 

You slowly watch their personality develop,

then six short years later you have a little boy looking at you with such a sweet smile.  That sweet smile isn’t always on his face, but days like today make the other days disappear.  He can slow down now on the growing up.
