Monday was a lazy day after Sea World. We got up ate breakfast. Which is another reason I liked the hotel; they had a great breakfast. You could have to order omelets, the normal hotel buffet breakfast with eggs, meats, pancakes, etc., and Noah’s favorite- cereal. After that we stopped by the Breckenridge Park and tried to do some Geotracking. We tried two different ones but couldn’t find either.
We found out that there was an 3D IMAX showing of the Avengers, so that was our “big” adventure for the day. The boys LOVED it! That includes John!!! The IMAX theatre was new and really nice. Yet, it was the first place that I have EVER had someone come and tell me that someone complained about my child. I know that if they start fussing or talking I head out with them. I don’t want to bother anyone. The part that made us the most surprised and upset was that Makaela WASN’T being loud at all. To keep us from getting kicked out, I took her out. I then watched some of the movie in the hallway area. If she made any noise we walked out. At almost the end of the movie Makaela fell asleep, so I got to sit and see the end. After the movie John’s dad who sat behind us asked what had happened. I explained and he said they never heard Makaela. Maybe they weren’t complaining about Makaela because at a quiet part right after a fight scene Eli said “That was AWESOME!” The theatre was not crowded at all and we sat away from others, but some people came and sat in front of us. If they were the ones that complained then, shame on them because they had their phone out the entire time. Then at the end of the movie when it was still dark, they decided to use the flash and to take a picture. I saw spots for a while. Oh well, I pretty much decided not o get too mad about it. Maybe I missed understood the guy that came to talk to me. Then again, not sure why he would have walked straight to me when he came into the theatre.
Other than that little first, it was great. The boys enjoyed it and that is what matters. I’m sure we will buying it when it come out on DVD and I’ll get to watch it until I have it memorized! After the movie as we left the kids posed with the Chipmunks.
We of course ate on the riverwalk again. We also tried out the pool. The kids enjoyed it. The water was a little cold so they kept running back and forth between the hot tub and the pool. We also found out that Makaela is just like her brothers- she is NOT afraid of the water. She was walking off the side of the pool if you were ready or not. She would also let go of you and just float off towards who ever she thought she would go visit. Yes, our little mermaid had fun!
The boys enjoyed it too. Noah practiced what he learned when they took swimming classes. I told Caleb he could stay in the shallow end where he could reach and practice without his water wings if he wanted. So, what does Caleb do? He takes off in part that he can’t really touch and we find him gasping for air near the ladder. Caleb seems to not think about what he is doing in the water. It surprises me because I would think he would be the most aware of the dangers. Backstory: When Caleb was 3, he took off his water wings in our above ground pool when no one was looking. My focus was on Ian at that moment who was also not following our pool rules. Noah alerted us that Caleb was under and he was pulled out. He seemed okay, but I was worried and took him to the ER. He had an x-ray done and everything was fine. So, that is why I would think Caleb would be more cautious! I’m just glad that we enjoyed the pool without anything major happening.
It was a nice evening swimming. Nothing says summer time like being able to go swimming. The boys thought it was even better because they were on a roof!
