Nine Years

Nine years.  I can’t believe that it has been that long, and then I think that really doesn’t seem too long.  So, much has happened but I’m happy to report, he’s still a keeper!

John and I had planned on not getting anything for each other.  But I thought I could “do” something for the both of us.  I thought it was about time that I get our wedding book together.  When we were married I was on this scrapbook kick and thought I would just do it myself.  Part of me wishes I would have spent the money to let someone else do it; but I have enjoyed going through the pictures and looking back at the joyous occasion.

The boys were looking at the pictures as I had them spread out all over the place. They would ask “who is this?” and I would have to tell them.  Most of the questions were about our family.  Bridgette was the flower girl at age 7 now she’s 16 and looks a lot different.  Ethan and Rachel REALLY look different!  They were toddlers still!

We’ve all gotten older, some relationship statuses have changed, some new members have joined our family; life has changed.  If it didn’t what would be the point?

The day before and the day of our anniversary I worked really hard trying to finish the book up.  I had just a few pages left by the end of the night.  I then took a few days off from it and the finished it the Wednesday after our anniversary.  It looks great.  I scanned a few of the pages and posted them on Facebook the day of our anniversary.

The last page of pictures in the book has the following pictures along with this printable I found on Pinterest.  I thought the saying fit the page perfectly.  John has even said he likes it on more that one occasion.

I think we have the best love story and it is still being written!  I know it’s a little mushy, but it’s supposed to be.

After all the work going getting this book together I remembered why it wasn’t done nine years ago.  Then I also found out I LOVE technology!  Digital cameras were just showing up at the time of our wedding.  Our photographer didn’t have one yet.  He got caught in someone else’s picture putting film in his camera.  I think that might be why I don’t have any pictures from him during the exchange of vows.  Thanks to our friends Terrell and Aimee and their digital camera I do have a few.  I also like the fact that putting a photo book together is SO much easier on the computer.  No cutting, No mess all over my room, No pictures on the floor for kids to spill yogurt on (yes, that did happen); just drag and done.  I still have our honeymoon and other pictures that need to be put in photo albums from the pre-digital age.  I’m not sure when that will get done, but one day they too will be in a book and sit upon a shelf for us to look at and remember what life used to be like!  I’m just happy I got our wedding album done finally!
