Rachel and Ethan decided to come with us and my mom and Bridgette also met us there. As we walked out of the Koldus parking garage I noticed two guys walking a dog. Yes, it was Reveille! I felt bad at first about asking to take pictures with her; but I couldn’t help it. It was the first time I had the kids on campus and we just happen to see Reveille, what are the odds!?! I asked very nicely if they minded if we bugged them and of course in true Aggie Hospitality they said no problem. I was VERY giddy!! I pulled out the camera from my purse gave it to Bridgette and John used his cell to take pictures. I totally forgot to get my siblings in the picture too. I told them they should have spoken up, since I was in an Aggie coma and not thinking straight! Bridgette (typical 16 year old girl) said she would rather a picture with the guys.
Then we walked the long way around Rudder, pointed out Nagle Hall (the wildlife and fisheries building), stopped by the fountain to take more pics. This time we got Bridgette, Ethan, and Rachel in the picture.
After that we went towards Kyle Field. The MSC looked so different. We didn’t have time to go in, I guess that will have to be a “next time” thing. There was also a large group of what looked like incoming students that past, which was a good thing come to find out. Then as we walked past one of the entrances, we noticed the gate was open. Could it be, could I also get to show the kids Kyle Field?! Yes, it was!! Again I was excited.
We walked in and took pictures of some future football players! They made their best football faces.
Gig’em Aggies!!
I remember walking through that same tunnel for Boot line during football games. I had such good memories here and today was no different. It didn’t seem that long ago I was a carefree student, now I had my lil Aggie crew with me.
Next we showed them all the Reveilles and took pictures with the 12th Man.
As we walked back to the cars, I asked John if this was what he felt like when we have taken the kids to Stillwater. He said, yes. It’s an amazing feeling being able to show your kids something that has meant so much to you. I know they didn’t get all of it, but maybe when we are watching the football games this year, they can think “I’ve been there”.
