New Driver

We have a John Deer Gator for the kids.  We recently had to tell the bigger two that are NOT allowed to drive or ride in it any more.  We don’t have it out very often, so before it came out when had to revamp the rules.  At first I thought it was okay for Ian, now we’ve decided we better just let him drive, only if he is driving someone.

It was Eli’s turn to step up and learn to drive.  I’m glad we have a bigger back yard.  Ian was nicked name “the stunt driver” when he learned.  He would run into the fence and jump the small ledge we had at the old house.  No, I didn’t make him put on the helmet, he did that himself.  I think Ian knew he was going to be trying some crazy stuff!

Eli is a lot calmer.  He did REALLY well for his first time.  He only ran into the fence once and it wasn’t a really bad collision.  He just came up to it trying to turn and lightly tapped it.  He drove Makaela around the yard until the battery ran out.

He was SO excited that he was a “big” boy and could drive!

I made Eli stop so I could get a picture.  I couldn’t tell if Makaela wanted out or wanted me to move so they could go again.  I think it was - move!  She never got out while they were stopped.  Love Eli's smile!!  Such a big smile from my big boy!!

I let Ian jump in the back for a while.  He got to drive at first, but once we handed it over to Eli, he didn’t want to give it up!

They grow up so fast!  Not sure if it will be this easy to teach them to drive a car.  Luckily, that will be John not me!
