Soccer and Pictures

My sister Lauren works for a kids’ psychologist or something of that nature.  Well, they also have a nonprofit organization to help kids, I know she has told me what they do; but I guess I didn’t retain the information.  All I know is that they wanted pictures of kids for a brochure and asked if they could use my kiddos.  I of course said yes, and then opened a huge can of worms as they decided to take the pictures the same weekend we had 3 soccer games and Makaela’s birthday.  At first we didn’t know how it was going to work, but we got it figured out.  That Saturday was a LOOONNNGGGG day!

First up were the soccer games.  Noah had two games that day.  We were a little worried at first because they only had one extra player when the game first started.  A little while into the game a lot more of the players showed up.  My mom, Lauren, Bridgette, Rachel, Ethan and Lauren’s dog, Bob also showed up a little after Noah’s first game had started.  Ms. Diane, a family friend that is in charge of the pictures for the brochure was there as well.  If we weren’t loud enough during the games we were really loud now!  Noah’s team dominated the first game and Noah scored 3 goals.  When the second game came you could see the team running out of energy.  Unfortunately they loss the second game.  He enjoyed playing and was so tired when the games were over.

Next up was Caleb and Ian.  They played the team that had just beat Noah’s team.  For some reason some of their players showed up late too.  Their team including Caleb just didn’t seem as in to the game as they usually are.  Their practice last Thursday was crazy with kids upset and not listening to the coach, so I wonder if some of that carried over to the game.  Ian was trying so hard, but couldn’t get a goal.  Caleb didn’t seem as aggressive as he usually is, he didn’t make a goal either.  After the game Caleb said he was tired, I told him next Saturday don’t wake up at 6:30!  They enjoyed the game and did their best and that is what really matters!

Then we grabbed something to eat and had a quick picnic at the park, then took the pictures.  I have to say the kids did great since the little ones really didn’t get a nap and the older ones were worn out from the games. They had huge bears and hats to pose with.  I only took a few pictures since there was a “real” photographer taking pictures and Ms. Diane said she would be able to get me a copy of the pictures.  The “big kids” in the pictures are my siblings.  I can’t wait to see how the pictures turned out!

After the professional pictures we let the kids play for a while, since it would be hard to take them to a park and not let them play.  I did try and take a few pictures but they were all dodging the camera.  I don’t blame them, they did great with the photographer and mom just needed to chill.  Eli and Makaela were getting pushed on the swings when we decided it was probably time to go.  They both looked like they were going to fall asleep!  Makaela woke up enough to walk Bob to the car.  I think she was wishing for her own little dog for her birthday, she loves hanging out with Bob.  Not sure if he enjoys it too.
