Let’s face it life is just busy!

The last few weeks were crazy.  We thought life was going to slow down and let us get into a routine and then NOPE!  Another crazy week.  This one had a last minute visit from my dad, another phone conference for Caleb, and a clean-a-thon.  I really have to get over this “routine” thing.  Our lives will normally be crazy and then the calm weeks will come every once in a blue moon and let us rest up for another onset of crazy weeks.

The last minute visit from my dad was to pick up a trailer we had borrowed.  No biggie until I finished weed eating the back yard I find out his cousin is coming with him.  A quick shower and clean up of the house and I was ready for the visit.  We had a nice visit and had lunch, but since I was thrown off with the change of plans I forgot about the phone conference.  I got it worked out and had the conference, but felt terrible for forgetting.

The clean-a-thon was because on Sunday we got a call that John’s grandparents were going to come and visit.  We were thrilled about the visit, but I decided to CLEAN the house.  This included a reorganization of the playroom, washing everyone’s bedding, getting on hands and knees to cleaning floors, along with all the normal cleaning and laundry.  The playroom was a must since we had just put the new bottom of the bookcases in there and had toys all over the place.  I was pleased with the way it turned out and am very excited for the rest of the bookcases to be finished.  The boys seemed to be impressed with it as well having to show off the playroom to anyone that comes over.

The closet, the bottom bookcases, and the rest of the room.

The crazy thing was with everything I had planned out and everything else I had going on, Friday came and they showed up with me not finished.  At lunch I had a migraine start, I did what I could to keep it from getting really bad; but was left in a medicated fog.  I tried to finish everything, but the pseudo-migraine I wasn’t moving fast enough.  They didn’t seem to care too much about my almost perfect house.

That weekend we were supposed to have soccer games, but they were rained out.  So we spent the day visiting, putting up some of the Halloween decorations, and watching college football.  We weren’t too exciting for Grandma and Grandpa, but after the last few weeks we had had I enjoyed just taking it slow.  The cutest thing would happen every time we would sit down to eat with them.  Makaela would sit by her great grandpa and he would sneak her food.  She would ask for more of something, I would ask her to eat what was already on her plate, then Grandpa would give her a piece of his.  A few times Grandma even told him to stop; but he had a little girl next to him that was way more convincing I guess.  John and I tried not to laugh at the table when we would see it, but it was too cute!  We both agreed that Makaela stole the show for Grandpa that weekend.  She is cute and she knows it!

Everyone enjoyed the visit and we can’t wait for the next one!
