The boys have really gotten into a song despite the fact that I really don’t like it, thanks to M&M’s. I will admit the commercial is pretty funny and can’t help but laugh when it comes on; but the song without the dancing M&M- not so much.
At lunch today with the Aunts, Uncle and a family friend; my boys were in rare form. They started singing “I’m sexy and I know it” (only words they know of the song). I gave Ian the “mommy” look thinking they would stop. Next thing I know they are making up other versions of the song.
Now, I’m not 100% sure who exactly came up with the words. I’m sure it was a collaboration between my boys, Rachel, Bridgette, Ethan and Robert. Who knows maybe even my sister Lauren. I was on the other end of our table (17 of us were at lunch together) and I heard Caleb sing…
“I’m Mexican and I know it.”
Then I heard Noah singing another version. A little background before I write his version, Eli’s nickname is Chunky Monkey. It goes back to when he was really little and now that he is older he really likes it. He will tell you “I Chunky Monkey” and make monkey noises. So… Noah’s song went like this:
“He’s Chunky and we know it. Look at that belly jiggle.”
This is probably one of those you had to be there stories, but I thought it was worthy to keep in the memory of our family blog. Also I would love it, if they would keep singing their versions and not the original. Thank you M&M’s for inspiring the lunchtime entertainment.
