John’s Trip- Our Side Part 3

Four Days left

Monday

We really unpacked.  Again I love my mom!  She actually had done all the laundry.  I just had to get it out of the bags and put it away.  So, wonderful!  I did the normal stuff.  Figure out the shopping list, get coupons ready, clean house, hang out.  This week was going to be easy!

Tuesday

I decided to go to the store, since we were out of must haves. I also wanted to have Wednesday and Thursday to finish cleaning and other little to do’s before John got home.  The plan was to hit Sam’s, eat lunch with friends, then finish up at Wal-Mart. The Weather app showed a chance of thunderstorms, but no biggie- no watches, no warnings.

The day was going fine. We dodged rain in and out of places. As we were leaving Wal-Mart it started raining a little, but got everyone and thing in the car without getting too wet. Then I turned on the car and caught the end of the Emergency Broadcast notice about tornado warnings for the area including where I was at and our house. I was about 15 minutes from home, so I hurried that way. As I listened to the news it sounded like most of the bad weather was south of us. John texted me as I was driving, guess he was getting information from other people about the weather and checking in on us. I had to text him later of course. It was pouring down when we got home. I got the kids out, turned on the TV and told Ian to get me if he heard them mention Sanger or Denton. I unloaded groceries. It was a little stressful trying to figure out where the weather was moving, get groceries inside, position car for least hail damage if it came, and saying prayers. The weather stayed to the south and all we got was some rain. My prayers go out to those that we hit by the storms. We watched the news that night and reminded the boys to say extra prayers for everyone else.

Wednesday

One of my to do’s was to touch up the paint and finish up the bathroom.  This project was actually started back in October before Makaela’s birthday.  There were a few places to touch up the paint and at some point figure out what to hang back up.  I got the paint fixed and also decided while I had it out to repaint the fireplace.  Our first fire in it left some smoke marks on the white trim that didn’t just wipe of.  I also started on getting Easter decorations out.  Ian was very adamant that we needed to put out or decorations it was getting close and nothing was done yet.  I was trying to wait till after Friday, but with John just getting back and such I decided to go ahead and do it before he got here.  I also got the kids to do a craft project since John’s dad was coming for Easter and I needed it done before he got here.  More to come about my projects later.

Thursday

More finishing touches on the bathroom, cleaning the house, Easter decorations, and such.  I got a text from John when he landed and waited anxiously for the text that said he was finished with customs and headed home. Never got that text.  The boys got home from school and since there was no school on Friday helped pick things up.  Yes, we constantly have to pick stuff up since once a room is clean it is almost 5 seconds later, someone has toys all over the place.  I can hear the boys say “Maaakaaaela!”

The doorbell rang.  I went to the door and opened it to see John standing there.  I guess he wanted to surprise us.

Yeah he is home!!!!
