We spent a lot of the Thanksgiving break with John’s grandparents. The boys LOVE visiting, because they get to do all kinds of things they don’t get to do really any where else. This summer was fishing, this trip of course was hunting- pictures were part of the “Firsts” post. The weather was great on Thanksgiving Day and so the boys played a lot of football outside, climbed fences, watched the “big boys” shoot the rifles, and just hang out.
There was of course Thanksgiving dinner. Even though holidays are a time where you get to have “special” foods, my kids are so stuck on their routines or “normal” foods they aren’t big holiday eaters. Thank goodness from Great- Grandma’s mashed potatoes! Granny also came for the day, making it a great Thanksgiving.
The day after Thanksgiving the weather was not so nice. After the boys tried hunting that morning, we planned a family trip to Stillwater for some Hideaway Pizza and some Christmas Shopping. It may have been Black Friday, but there really weren’t any crowds where we went- OSU Bookstores! The kiddos had some OSU items on their Christmas lists, so we cleverly went shopping and bought their presents right under their noses! Love it!
The boys were also Great-Grandpa and Great-Grandma’s helpers with their word finds. Taking a break one day Great- Grandpa pulled out his word find and the fun started! He had so many helpers he didn’t know what to do!
Great-Grandma also had her helpers. Then I think the boys just took over their books and had Great-Grandma and Great-Grandpa as their helpers! They never seemed to mind and thought it was a great way for the boys to practice their letters!
We always have fun visiting and can’t wait for the next time!
