Pre Thanksgiving Week

The boys had a week off for Thanksgiving.  We couldn’t wait.  John took the week off too, so we could spend part of the week in Oklahoma with his Grandparents and the other half with my family.  We spent the weeks before trying on hunting clothes and shopping for camo.  Noah was outgrowing his clothes, but that was just fine since we had a new hunter this year.  It was Ian’s first year and he was excited.

Caleb brought home a family project due the Monday after Thanksgiving.  With all the upcoming traveling, we got his project done before we left.  We had to decorate a Christmas tree.  I forgot to take a picture before he took it to school, so I guess when it comes back home.  Caleb was very worried about getting it done.  I think every night I was asked are we doing it tonight?  I guess I should be glad he didn’t wait till the last minute to try and do it.

Caleb and Noah both came home Tuesday with headaches and allergies.  Wednesday it really took a toll on Noah.  He made it through school, but came home with a headache, runny nose, and sneezing.  I knew exactly how he felt and he looked terrible.  We had Faith Formation that night and I asked him if he could make it through and at first it was a yes.  By the time we got to the church, it was a NO.  This is when living 20 minutes from church is not good.  I couldn’t go home just to turn back around to pick up the other two boys.  And I didn’t want to roam a store, since Noah wasn’t feeling good.  So, I was stuck in a car with one sick kid and two bored monkeys.

Thursday Noah was feeling better.  And it was time to start packing things for John’s Grandparents’.  After some debating we decided to pack just for that trip, come home and then pack for the next one; instead of trying to do it all at once.  It really helped, because I was stressing trying to figure out how to pack winter clothes for Oklahoma, but warm weather clothes for Austin.

Friday I spent the day finishing up some of the packing, loading the car, and trying to keep Makaela and Eli up so they would sleep in the car.  Everything was going fine until Makaela decided to throw up on me.  Yes, I think she likes to make sure I know she isn’t feeling well.  Not sure where it came from.  She seemed fine afterward and only complained about her teeth.  I’m a little curious if stomach bugs and teething are a match for her, like ear infections and teething were for the boys.  She only got sick that once; still no clue on what was wrong.  We picked the big brothers up from school a little early.  Caleb said he didn’t feel well and that his teacher thought he had a fever.  He looked terrible.  I wasn’t sure if it was just allergies like Noah, or something else.  John got home and we loaded the car.  As we were getting gas in the car we tried to figure out if this was a good idea or if we should just go back home.  With the kids votes in, we decided to try for Oklahoma.
