Ian is something else! When John and I were first asked to go to the Aggie game we really thought about not going because it was Ian’s birthday. We decided to talk to him about it and he was excited. First we had to explain that he wasn’t going to be able to go to the game, but he would be with grandma. That was enough for him. He didn’t mind us leaving at all! I’m not sure if we should take offence to that or not; but we took the chance to have a day without the kids. And it sounded like they wanted a day without us too!
Friday night after Bridgette’s volleyball game we went back to my parents. My sister Lauren didn’t make it to the volleyball game, but she got to the house before we did and had the kitchen filled with streamers and balloons. It looked great! We had pizza, cake, and presents. Uncle David got a Superman cape and mask for Ian so he wore that most of the night. Lauren also go Spiderman masks and glasses with a nose and mustache as a party favor. Grandma found a Spiderman cake/cupcakes. John and I had brought balloons and streamers to do our normal birthday thing, but my siblings had us covered. Ian enjoyed all his presents. John got him a kickstand for his bike. We thought it was a little odd for a birthday gift, but the face Ian had when he opened it was priceless! He was so excited about the kickstand. We were dumbfounded! That’s Ian, he is easily excited by the little things that most kids would frown at.
Uncle Ethan thought he was funny and blew out the candles before Ian could. So we lite them again and made sure that someone covered Ethan’s mouth. I think one of our boys did that for some else’s birthday, now I know where they got it from!
The Aunts and Grandparents got him Aggie stuff and things for “mommy’s school”. Aunt Lauren and Aunt Mary gave him birthday kisses. Love the party favors!
I had to add this picture of my youngest sisters. I wasn’t paying attention to them when I took the picture, but can you see the sisterly love. Yeah, that was sarcastic. No telling what they were disagreeing about this time.
We also got him a dinosaur book that Noah was jealous about and a corvette. He is always telling us he is going to have one when he gets bigger. This one even lets him change the tires.
Makaela enjoyed the party as she walked Bob around. That poor dog, he should be glad she doesn’t live closer!
Our super kid had a great birthday! And that was just the party before. On his birthday he got to go to a park with Grandma, Papaw, the aunts and uncles. They tired out the water play area, but figured out it was too cold. They ate out and played all day! Sunday morning when I saw him again, I swear he grew over night. I asked him how his birthday was and he said “fun!”
Happy 5th Birthday Super Ian!
