A while back I wrote about how Makaela had learned to climb up a step stool in the bathroom and look at herself in the mirror. I have not been able to keep her off of that stool no matter how hard we try. Every night at bath time she is in the bathroom climbing. I even tried putting it out in the hall turned upside down and well that just proved to be even more interesting. During the rounds of sick kids I had one of the mattress propped up against the bunk beds drying out. With the help of her brothers knocking it over she climbed up on the bottom bunk and was standing at the footboard jumping up and down talking and having way too much fun. We also have a futon couch in the play room where she climbs on the back like a little tunnel. She also likes not only to play in the dirt of a large indoor potted plant but climbs up in it. It’s a palm tree with no branches thank goodness, or I’m sure I would find her up the tree! She also has found the step stool in the kitchen…
the boxes still in the formal dining needing to be unpacked…
(by the way these are the ones she climbs into, there are others still closed up she sits on top of)
and today the Entertainment Center! Ian and Eli were down for naps, I was making my lunch while she was playing in the living room. She was playing all right! I looked into the living room and saw her just sitting there. When I yelled “Makaela Marie!”, she smiled, laughed and kicked her feet so excitedly!! This time I had to get a picture- I grabbed the IPhone so I could show John what HIS Daughter was doing! Yes, I’m a typical parent when the kids are doing something that they are not supposed to they always belong to the other parent. (the pictures are a little fuzzy I was trying to be quick before she fell off or got too used to sitting up there)
The girl is a monkey!!! Now believe me I try to take her outside and let her be the monkey where it is okay and she is supervised; thinking it would get out of her system. Then when we are back in the house it would be safe to turn my back on her.
But it just doesn’t work. She climbs on everything inside or out no matter what. John and I are starting to wonder if she is just as bad or WORSE than the boys. Right now it’s hard to say. We keep telling ourselves she is the same it’s just we were expecting calmness and have another busy body!
I think the tongue is on purpose!
