Good-bye Christmas

We took down the Christmas decorations after our second Christmas with the Allen family.  It was really sad.  When you put all of the decorations up you’re blaring Christmas songs and in a good mood.   When you take it all down, well, it’s a little depressing.

The outdoor stuff came down that Sunday.  Ian was worried that no one would be able to find our house, since we didn’t have spider webs or Christmas lights.  Before church, I took one last round of pictures of the kids in front of the Christmas tree.  They actually for the most part were willing and we actually were ready with enough time- it doesn’t happen often so I had to take advantage of it!

Then during the week, we got the inside stuff put up.  Our living room looks empty with no tree and I haven’t had a chance to put all the other décor stuff back out.  We are missing the nice ambiance that the lights created in the living room in the evenings.  We had a really good Christmas this year.  I don’t know why, but it felt different to me.  I was more relaxed and not as stressed about everything.  It was really nice.

With the Christmas stuff put up, it made me realize I had a lot of things that I was putting off till “after the holidays.”  That may have been another reason it was sad to see Christmas go.
